Question
How can Virtual Reality software assist existing workflows in garment-making?
Additional Information
Gravity Sketch has been established as a useful software for digital sculpting and ideating objects in virtual space. Fabrics have different physical qualities to them that make drafting them with this software and VR hardware unique. This question is specifically aimed at thinking about how the tools in Gravity Sketch can assist in visualizing how fabric might interact with a body when the fabric itself isn’t physically present.
Successful Submission Criteria
Provide thorough documentation of experimentation in Gravity Sketch VR, showcasing how various tools are used to ideate fabric interactions on a virtual dress form.
Present evidence of translating virtual creations into a wearable form, supported by process documentation that connects VR ideation to physical garment realization.
Analyze how VR ideating integrates into existing garment-making workflows, including reflections on its potential advantages and limitations.
Demonstrate the development process by refining designs based on insights gained from both the virtual and physical processes.
